T-Systems, a subsidiary of Telekom, has launched a new product designed to make it easier for companies to set up and operate charging stations for electric vehicles. The digital solution is cloud-based and should be adaptable to different IT landscapes.
According to the press release, the central management system called Ambika is based on a solution from technology provider ServiceNow. T-Systems describes it as a «digital all-in-one device» that can be used to manage the maintenance of charging stations. Payment and billing processes can also be handled through the app.
«With our complete Ambika solution, we make it possible to achieve mobility transition goals through rapid deployment and a true modern user experience,» says Andreas Grice, Head of Digital Solutions at T-Systems.
The company’s offer includes a complete package of «everything (…) that is needed to build charging stations»: from the construction work, full logistics, hardware and software installation to maintenance and troubleshooting after commissioning. Errors can be corrected through remote monitoring. If necessary, the service team will support what is happening on site.
According to the information, the deployment and operation will be monitored via the ServiceNow cloud platform. The customer portal is provided by the Austrian company ENIO, in which Telekom has a stake. Telekom subsidiary Comfort Charge is already using the solution at around 160 charging points in Germany.
