Overview
The Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ (TEA) is committed to supporting local educational agencies (LEAs) in their efforts to improve the safety and security of school facilities for staff, students, and visitors. This To the Administrator Addressed letter provides information related to guidelines for provisions of a multihazard emergency operations plan.ÌýÌý
Guidelines for Emergency Operations
Ìýrequires the agency to establish guidelines for the provisions of an LEA’s multihazard emergency operations plan to better ensure the safety and security of students and staff with disabilities or impairments. Working collaboratively with educators, education service centers, and advocacy groups, TEA’s Office of Special Populations and Student Supports, Office of School Safety and Security, and the Texas School Safety Center developed theseÌýGuidelines for Multihazard Emergency Operations.Ìý
Per Texas Education Code, Section 37.1086(b), LEAs must follow these guidelines when adopting/implementing their emergency operations plan.Ìý
