Assessment Reimbursements

Background

The College Preparation Assessment Reimbursement, authorized by Texas Education Code (TEC) Ի , provides funding to districts for the cost of the administration of college preparation assessments (SAT, ACT, and TSIA) once per student either in the spring of their junior year or in their senior year, beginning in the 2019‐2020 school year.Districts receive estimated funding annually for assessment reimbursement.

Eligible students are as follows:

  • Seniors who take either the SAT, ACT, or TSIA from September 1– July 31
  • Juniors who take either the SAT, ACT, or TSIA from January 1– July 31

Districts received estimated Foundation School Program allocations during September found on line 38 of the report.

The ˿Ƶ (TEA) willsettle up with districts in April each year, the year following onceall student assessment data is received. If multiple records of a student are reported from the same district, TEA will reimburse the highest cost exam. If multiple records of a student are reported from several districts, the first district to make the request will receive the reimbursement.

2022-2023 TSIA Reimbursement

Application closes December 15, 2023


The 2022-2023 process to review the HB3 ACT and SAT reimbursement data is in TEAL. The application to request TSIA reimbursement is open. Designated district staff may review student data to verify in TEAL. District staff may submit a request for a TSIA reimbursement through . After entering the district and staff contact information, download, complete, and upload the embedded Excel template, then submit.The TSIA reimbursement application will close at 5 PM on Friday, December 15, 2023.
