PEIMS data files are submitted four times each school year following a schedule established by the TEDS PEIMS Data Standards:

Fall (Collection 1)

Fall data are used to:

  • Calculate compensatory entitlement
  • Monitor special programs
  • Report to the federal government
  • Calculate retention
  • Calculate basic profiles for AEIS
  • Perform desk audits

Important Fall dates:

  • Close of school-start window (last Friday in September): September 29, 2017
  • Snapshot Date (Last Friday in October): October 27, 2017
  • TSDS PEIMS ready for users to complete, approve and accept submissions: October 30, 2017
  • Requests to Retire Unique IDs due at TEA: December 1, 2017
  • First submission due date for LEAs and ESCs: December 7, 2017
  • Requests to Retire Unique IDs due at TEA: January 12, 2018
  • Resubmission due date for LEAs and ESCs: January 18, 2018
  • Data available to customers: February 15, 2018

Midyear (Collection 2)

Midyear data include actual audited financial data from the previous year (2016-2017).

Midyear data are used to:

  • Report to the state legislature
  • Monitor special program expenditures
  • Audit districts
  • Perform desk audits

Important midyear dates:

  • TSDS PEIMS ready for users to complete, approve and accept submissions: December 18, 2017
  • First submission due date for LEAs and ESCs: January 25, 2018
  • Resubmission due date for LEAs and ESCs: February 8, 2018
  • Data available to customers: March 1, 2018

Summer (Collection 3)

Summer data include:

  • Student attendance data
  • Course completion data
  • Discipline data
  • Restraint data
  • Title I, Part A data

Summer data are used to:

  • Calculate FSP final allotments
  • Calculate attendance and course completion
  • Create a portion of the AEIS
  • Augment the monitoring of special programs
  • Perform desk audits

Important dates:

  • TSDS PEIMS ready for users to complete, approve and accept submissions: May 21, 2018
  • Requests to Retire Unique IDs due at TEA: June 15, 2018
  • First submission due date for LEAs: June 21, 2018
  • Requests to Retire Unique IDs due at TEA: July 13, 2018
  • Resubmission due date for LEAs: July 19, 2018*
  • Data available to customers: September 13, 2018

Extended Year (Collection 4)

Extended year data include:

  • Optional extended year program (OEYP) data
  • Extended school year services (ESY) data
  • Bilingual/English as a Second Language (ESL) summer school program

Extended year data are used to:

  • Calculate ESY funding
  • Calculate BIL/ESL summer school funding
  • Monitor special programs
  • Perform desk audits

Important extended year dates:

  • TSDS PEIMS ready for users to complete, approve and accept submissions: August 6, 2018
  • Requests to Retire Unique IDs due at TEA: August 24, 2018
  • First submission due date for LEAs: August 30, 2018
  • Requests to Retire Unique IDs due at TEA: September 14, 2018
  • Resubmission due date for LEAs: September 20, 2018
  • Data available to customers: October 18, 2018

*LEAs registered with TEA with year-round tracks ending later than June 21, 2018 may delay resubmission until two weeks following completion of the latest year-round track or August 16, 2018, whichever comes first.Ìý However, the initial data delivery for submission 3 must still be made by June 21, 2018, for all LEAs. In no case will any resubmission be processed after August 16, 2018. Corrections made beyond August 16, 2018 will be handled by State Funding.Ìý
